Altered Magnetite is said to be normal Magnetite affected by the appearance of the Shibuya Monolith. It is pictured as a gray Magnetite crystal, similar to the large crystals that are found in Shibuya.

It is possible that the Altered Magnetite are fragments of these crystals, as they are carried by the demons and plasmas that are located near them. Therefore it is found only in the Shibuya area.

The main use of the Altered Magnetite is in the Shibuya Quartz dungeon, as 10 units of it can be traded to the posted Yagiya in exchange for a Shibuya Quartz: Bronze and 25 will get a Shibuya Quartz: Silver. The Yagiya says to give that Altered Magnetite to researchers in charge for discovering its properties. This has proven so far to be the only way to get Shibuya Quartz Bronze Plate, aside from a weapon shop owner's identification of scrap metal, since differently from other dungeons they are not available in the Yagiya post shop.
