Ways to defeat Celu Gold (walkthrough)

Plate Cost: 20,000 macca

Requirements: Class C Demon Buster License

•Currently there is a level cap of 55+ on the dungeon. This is effective as of November 10th, 2009 on the Japanese Server. This may be lifted in a future patch.

Recommended Level: 60+ Party, 70+ Solo

Recommended Skills:

•Curse of the Wretched

•Magic Bullet

Recommended Soul Stones:

•Catoblepas (Face) +50% chance to inflict Stone status-effect

•Nekomata (Glove) +50% chance to inflict Charm status-effect

•Mothman (Talisman) +50% chance to inflict Muddle status-effect


Other Recommendations:

•Catch a Harpy and keep it in your COMP for the fusion-gauge skill Maxi Tempest. The skill makes taking out Thor in the boss room much faster, and only takes one fusion-gauge stock. The dungeon is long enough that you should fill up at least one gauge throughout the dungeon.

•For the Nightmare mobs, it's pretty essential to have access to a Nekomata Soul Stone (+50% Charm) and either Marin Karin (if you have Curse Magic) or Enchanting Bullet Hole (if you're a Magic Bullet Gunner). Gloves of the Abyss give a nice additional bonus (+20% Charm) if you can come across a pair these days. Shiaboo is also a viable skill when dealing with Nightmare Onkot.

•At least one person should have access to Curse of the Wretched in your party; Erosion Hex will be extremely helpful in this instance, with most mobs being weak to magic affinity (muddle) or death affinity (stone).


Boss Room Tactics: There's essentially 2 ways that are most effective in clearing the boss room: Type 1: 1) Gunner run in first, lure Thor to top left corner and keep him chain charm there. 2) Rest of the party then enters and clear the room. Type 2: 1) Whole party rush into the middle of the room. 2) Someone with erosion/catoblepas cast erosion hex once to stone/muddle the entire room while everyone one attacks Thor and bring him down ASAP. Gunner charm Scathach/Pallas/stuff not muddled/stone. 3) Odin will be next if he gets summoned, else bring down Scathach/Pallas.

If mulitple people in the party have Erosion Hex, it's best to let only one person (preferably one with Catoblepas Soul Stone) cast E-Hex in the boss room. This will prevent Stone-status from being broken by multiple casts.

Despite Thor being weak to Magic-affinity, he is immune to Erosion Hex. The only way to muddle him is by way of Forgetful Bullet Hole or Fog Breath.
