The Junkerman is a former miner and now resides in Suginami next to the mines at X:21/Y23. He offers two services in the game currently; supplying an item needed to complete act 4, and taking specific demons with specific skills in exchange for a random reward.
Act 4
The Master of the Cathedral of Shadows needs a Stone of the Old World in order to construct the plate necessary to open Suginami Tunnels: Grey. He refers you to the Junkerman, someone who regularly encounters objects originating from before the Great Destruction during his excavations.
The Junkerman requires a level 12 or higher demon to send in search of the Stone in question. A demon meeting the requirement will have a roughly 70% chance of surviving and bringing back what you need. Demons exceeding the required level will have a roughly 10% better chance of survival for each level above 12 that they are.
Note: if the demon fails, they are lost forever. It is recommended to use a common "throwaway" demon for this task, rather than a valuable one that you rely on; Cu Sith is available nearby, and respawns quickly.
Using Dwarfs and Knockers to excavate rare items
This service is accessible after completing act 4. The Junkerman requests Knockers and Dwarfs with specific skills, and in exchange you get to keep the first object that they bring back. The item brought back depends on the demon and is chosen randomly from a set table for each skill/demon combination. There is no chance of failure; you will always receive something for your trouble.
There are five demon/skill combinations that you can turn in. In order of difficulty, they are:
1. Knocker with the skill Dia
Simple combinations: Level 3 Pixie + Apsaras (Cait Sith + Lost Hua Po) or Angel + Poltergeist
Possible rewards: Hihi-Irokane Gloves(m or f), Hihi-Irokane Boots (m or f), 3x garnet, 3x aquamarine, Broken IC Chip, Decayed Scrap Iron(bullet, blade or clump), Macha DCM, Sudama DCM, Cu Sith DCM
2. Knocker with the skill Media
Simple combinations: Level 5 Inexperienced Cait Sith + Garm (Lost Hua Po + Pixie) or Aquans + Sudama
Possible rewards: Hihi-Irokane Gloves(m or f), Hihi-Irokane Boots (m or f), Hihi Irokane leg guard(M or F), 2x Broken ic chip, 3x opal
the DCMS: Nekomata DCM and Setanta DCM
3. Dwarf with the skill 99 Needles

Possible rewards: Hihi-Irokane Armor top (m or f) or Leg guards(m or f), 3x garnet, 3x Broken IC Chip, Decayed Scrap Iron(random), Succubus DCM
4. Dwarf with the skill Rage
