Friendship can be increased in the following ways and may be triggered on a by-occurrence basis:

A Plugin is a special, non-material item of sorts that allows you, through a very specific triangle fusion of three given demons, produce a special demon that cannot normally be created. For instance, a Level 19 Vetala + Level 26 Lilim + Level 18 Succubus would normally create a Legion; however, if you have the Lilith Plugin: Petals of Lily, that fusion allows you to create the level 92 Nocturne, Lilith.

There are Plugins scattered all over the game world, and most of them are obtained through special Quests that, upon completion, grant you some sort of additional reward besides the Plugin itself.

You can check your list of acquired Plugins by clicking on the Demon menu and selecting Plugins List. Do note, however, that Plugins are tied to the character they are obtained with, NOT to the account. In other words, if you have two characters in the same account, and for instance, you want to have Nyarlathotep's plugin on both characters, you'll have to do the quest twice.

Plugins allow for certain triangle fusions to behave differently than the way they normally do. With the correct Plugin, you can perform a triangle fuse using a specific set of demons, and have a special demon as a result. Most times, combinations of said special demons without the Plugin will yield a different demon altogether in some cases, or the fusion will not be possible in others.
